When you arrive at Hawthornbank Guest House you will be enchanted by the striking Victorian villa that it is housed in. The villa was built in 1873 and from its elevated position it enjoys magnificent views. Set in a quiet residential area, a wooded footpath will lead you to Oban town centre in moments.
The extensive refurbishment grants Hawthornbank Guest House modern luxuries but has not compromised the classic charm. Recognition of the high standards of this Oban bed and breakfast was given by the Scottish Tourist Board when it was awarded a four-star rating. The friendly staff works hard to maintain these standards.
Every bedroom has an en suite shower room with complimentary toiletries and soft, pure cotton towels. All the rooms are individually styled with plush fabrics, tasteful decoration and comfortable furnishings.
Each room has its own unique features; the first floor Regency Room affords glorious vistas of Oban Bay and the islands. A dramatic four poster bed fitted with a modern divan mattress dominates the room. The Victorian Room includes a period brass bed and an impressive mahogany wardrobe. There are also standard twin and double rooms available.
You can enjoy a delicious breakfast every morning in the stunning dining room. Choose from traditional cooked, vegetarian or continental breakfasts whilst admiring the original oak arts and craft chairs and matching tables.
The area surrounding Hawthornbank Guest House provides a range of things to do and places to see. The local eateries will appeal to every taste and pocket, whilst the local bowling green, tennis and squash courts and swimming pool are great for something energetic. You could also take a ferry to explore the islands like Mull, where you may encounter otters and the rare Sea Eagle.
With competitive rates, you have no excuse to miss out on this wonderful Oban bed and breakfast.
