For those looking for a warm welcome and excellent accommodation at a competitive price, the Lancaster is the perfect Oban bed and breakfast.
Oban is the Gaelic term for "Little Bay", but this little bay has a rich past and a brighter future. The town of Oban is well known for being a port town, and played a vital part in the Second World War effort as a port for Allied ships. The "Gateway to the Isles" is an ideal base from which to explore the nearby islands such as Kerrera and Mull, and also towns such as Fort William.
We provide the service of a small, family owned hotel and our aim is to make your stay as comfortable as possible. It would be extremely difficult to find a better standard of customer service at any Oban bed and breakfast.
The Lancaster is on the Seafront, next to St. Columba's Cathedral on the North of the bay looking down Kerrera sound.
There are twenty seven rooms in the Hotel. These consist of three family rooms, six doubles, ten twins and eight singles. All of our rooms, except three of the single rooms, have private toilet, bath or shower. All the rooms have televisions, radio/intercom system, trouser presses, coffee and tea making facilities, full length mirrors, and electric blankets.
There are seven of our rooms with sea views, two family rooms, two twins, one double and two single rooms. One of our larger family rooms sleeps up to five people.
There are three public seating areas. As you enter the hotel there is a small sun porch with the same views as the cocktail bar, dining room, and top lounge. The glass door can be closed for privacy or, as in the winter, to keep the heat in and cold out. Between the sun porch and the reception there is the entrance lounge with banquette seating for ten people, with more seating round our real flame gas fire. The cocktail bar leads off the entrance lounge so even if you have children with you can still enjoy a drink out in these seating areas.
The Resident's Lounge can seat up to twenty people comfortably in the normal seating plan, but should you hire the room for a meeting or function, depending on the type of seating layout used we can accommodate up to thirty people.
There is a veranda at the front of the hotel overlooking the rockery and pond, where guests may take their drinks and sit in the sunshine during the summer months. At the height of the summer there is no better way to end an eventful day than to enjoy the view of Oban Bay with a cool drink.
Our tariffs are competitive and you will have a hard time trying to find a better value deal at any Oban bed and breakfast.
If you are looking for a top quality bed and breakfast in Oban, then consider the Lancaster. Value for money and a memorable stay are guaranteed!
